Given my goal to mitigate extreme global risk, I allocate a large proportion of my time to impact and outreach. I have engaged in extended partnerships with policy and industry bodies: including working with the UK Treasury, to develop a chapter of the Dasgupta Review of the Economics of Biodiversity Loss; the Fairness Foundation (a UK think tank), to develop their Wealth Gap Risk Register and investigate inequality as a driver of societal collapse; an international property developer, to develop their approach to global risk; the Microsoft AI Economy Institute, to work on transformative AI in Higher Education; and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Future Generations, to develop a series of parliamentary events and draft a Welfare of Future Generations Bill. I have also provided training on foresight and risk to UK Civil Service Reform Champions and have worked as a parliamentary staffer and freelance policy consultant.

I appeared before the UK House of Lords Select Committee on Risk Assessment and Risk Planning to give evidence about technological risk, with my testimony about the use of foresight for risk assessment being cited in their final report. I have also provided evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Parliamentary Science and Technology Committee (on AI risk), the White House Office of Science and Technology (on geoengineering), and the Liberal Democrat parliamentary health team during the COVID-19 pandemic.
